STILL MORE ANGER II
It's hard to know at this point whether this will develop into another "cartoon crisis". But the "anger" is, naturally, spreading. The BBC reports:

Oh, yes, and "prominent scholars" continue thoughtfully to jump in:
Yes, such sounds on the surface very reasonable. And, interestingly, that quote appears both in the BBC report cited above and here at Reuters.
By the way, I write "interestingly" because neither apparently think it is necessary to bother to tell readers that he is the same Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawi who:
Which in itself seems to justify the Pope's quotation. But then again why should two prominent newsgathering, "always seeking facts", organizations actually believe it is necessary to point out a factoid like that? Right?
So, let's sum up. What all that means is this: "If you don't retract that quote of someone else and apologize and say we're very, very peaceful, we'll be furious!"
