The BBC reports:
There are people who strenuously disagree today with the fundamental premise that the men who suicidally crashed hijacked civilian planes into the WTC less than four years ago might actually constitute something of an enemy. Indeed, there are even those who flat out state that attack wasn't carried out by those men. ("That atrocity wasn’t carried out by Arabs, it was carried out by rich white men who pretend to be pious Christians and Jews hiding behind their billions of dollars." -- I won't link to that sort of thing; one can easily find such examples on the web.) So the fact that there might be some "disagreements over" the many and varied aspects of the "legacy" of a gigantic war that ended 60 years ago is not really surprising. ¶ by Robert, Monday, May 09, 2005

More than 50 world leaders, including US President George W Bush, are in Moscow to pay tribute to the Soviet people's sacrifice in World War II.A U.S. president has never before attended a May 9 Moscow commemoration. So this is a big deal.
A mass parade has been taking place in Red Square - the latest in a series of events in Europe marking 60 years since the Allied victory over Nazi Germany.
The 75-minute commemoration was followed by the laying of wreaths at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
But the event has been overshadowed by disagreements over the war's legacy. . .You're kidding? Really?
